Halfway through the year, I use July not to judge, but to check in with my goals, my energy, and how I’m showing up for myself. These five wellness practices have brought me back into balance, grounded my routines, and reminded me to care for the vessel that carries me through it all.
1. Salt Baths
Who it's for: Anyone feeling depleted, stressed, inflamed, or energetically drained.
What it is: A restorative soak using mineral-rich salts, and essential oils to relax muscles, soften skin, and detoxify the body.
Where: Anywhere with a vessel and warm water such as your bathtub, a foot soak basin, or even a hand soak bowl.
When to do it: At the end of a long day, after travel, or during PMS or emotional burnout. 2–3 times a week is ideal.
Why: Salt baths support the nervous system, relieve tension, draw out toxins, and offer a ritual for resetting the mind, body, and spirit.
2. Daily Walks
Who it's for: Everyone, especially those working at a desk, feeling stagnant, or craving mental clarity.
What it is: A gentle, consistent movement practice that gets you outside and into your body.
Where: Your neighborhood, a nature trail, around the block, or wherever you can find a moment of space.
When to do it: First thing in the morning to energize, or in the evening to decompress.
Why: Walking increases circulation, boosts creativity, supports mood regulation, and reconnects you to nature and yourself.
3. 🥤Smoothies
Who it's for: Busy minds, tired bodies, and anyone who wants to fuel with intention.
What it is: A nutrient-dense, blended meal or snack often packed with fruits, greens, seeds, adaptogens, and protein. Stay tuned for my private smoothie recipes.
Where: At home, on the go, or post workout.
When to do it: As a breakfast, midday pick me up, or post walk refuel.
Why: Smoothies are easy to digest, customizable, and a powerful way to get whole-food nutrients into your daily routine.
4. Breathwork
Who it's for: Anyone dealing with anxiety, burnout, or a racing mind and those seeking clarity and emotional release.
What it is: A conscious breathing practice that activates the parasympathetic nervous system and supports mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing.
Where: Anywhere quiet like your bedroom, car, yoga mat, or even your work desk.
When to do it: First thing in the morning, before bed, or in moments of stress or overwhelm.
Why: Breathwork reduces cortisol, grounds your energy, and brings you back to the present. It’s free medicine you always carry.
5. Lymphatic Drainage
Who it's for: Anyone experiencing bloating, sluggishness, fatigue, or looking to support detox and skin health.
What it is: A gentle self-massage technique (or dry brushing/gua sha) that stimulates the lymphatic system to flush waste from the body.
Where: At home, using a brush, your hands, or facial tools like gua sha or jade rollers.
When to do it: In the morning before showering or as part of your evening wind down routine.
Why: It boosts circulation, supports immunity, reduces puffiness, and promotes radiant skin, all with just a few minutes a day.
These five rituals weren’t part of some grand wellness overhaul. They were quiet additions I made during some of the hardest moments of my year. Between burnout, job loss, grief, and uncertainty, these simple practices became anchors. They gave me space to breathe, to reset, and to show up for myself when everything else felt out of control.
I’m sharing them not because they’re trendy, but because they’ve truly improved my quality of life. They reminded me that healing doesn’t have to be loud. It can be found in warm water, a deep breath, a walk in fresh air.
In many ways, they’re the heart of Salted Stardust, the belief that even in the heaviness, we can find light, beauty, and restoration. I hope these serve you as they’ve served me. You deserve rituals that hold you, too.
